d'Arenberg Winery
Four generations of the Osborn family have made wine in the McLaren Vale, South Australia, since 1912. In 1957 d’Arry bottled the 1st of his famous red stripe labelled wines and in 1998 4th generation Chester won the inaugural Winestate Winemaker of the year award. As a wine making region, McLaren Vale has long been a powerhouse of Australian wine exports, and today the osborns are among the best-known and most established growers and exporters of wine from this celebrated wine region. McLaren Vale, with a wine making history dating back 150years, has as much integrity and history as the other great winemaking regions of the world. Having attended a very special dinner with d’Arry and Chester recently I can attest to the quality of these wines, the "Dead Arm Shiraz" been the flagship is definitely an iconic Australian wine. Chester is not afraid to experiment with different varieties and blends and his wines mimic his zest for life and love of fun.
